Azulejo is a uniquely Portuguese form of art, wherein sections of a larger picture are painted on ceramic tiles (generally in blue, but occasionally with a larger palette), glazed, fired and finally reassembled on both interior and exterior walls of buildings. Sometimes they have a functional purpose such as to name a road or a plaza, other times I've seen them covering entire buildings inside and out as an extremely elaborate wallpaper.
